ChemPedia: Journal of Chemical Science and Innovation is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal dedicated to publishing pioneering research at the forefront of fundamental chemical sciences and technological innovations. Positioned at the critical intersection of molecular design, material science, and chemical engineering, the journal serves as an authoritative scholarly forum for chemists, materials scientists, chemical engineers, and molecular biologists worldwide. ChemPedia prioritizes macro-level molecular architecture, rigorous experimental and computational validations, and sustainable chemical processes that address global industrial and environmental challenges. By bridging basic laboratory chemical discoveries with scalable industrial innovations, the journal fosters a deep, comprehensive understanding of drug design, advanced materials synthesis, and clean technology workflows.

Scope and Topics

The journal welcomes high-quality original research articles, critical reviews, and conceptual papers that offer significant contributions to the following thematic areas:

  • Advanced Organic & Inorganic Chemistry: Novel synthetic methodologies, catalysis design, coordination chemistry, organometallics, asymmetric synthesis, and structural characterization.

  • Physical, Analytical & Computational Chemistry: Electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, molecular modeling, quantum mechanics applications, microanalytical devices, and high-resolution spectroscopic techniques.

  • Materials Chemistry & Nanotechnology: Design of functional nanomaterials, polymers, biomaterials, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), and smart coatings for industrial application.

  • Green Chemistry & Sustainable Engineering: Renewable energy materials, circular chemical systems, eco-friendly solvents, waste-to-resource transformations, and clean manufacturing architectures.

  • Biochemical & Medicinal Chemistry: Molecular biochemistry, design of bioactive compounds, drug-receptor interactions, chemical biology tools, and target-based diagnostic innovations.

Publication Frequency

To ensure rigorous editorial oversight, thorough peer review, and timely dissemination of cutting-edge chemical research, ChemPedia is published semi-annually (2 issues per year, typically scheduled for release in June and December). Special thematic issues targeting emerging disruptions in green technology, nanomaterials breakthroughs, or urgent chemical engineering updates may be commissioned by the Editorial Board.

Peer Review Process

ChemPedia enforces a strict double-blind peer review policy to maintain the highest standards of scientific integrity and technical validity.

  1. Initial Desk Evaluation: Every submission undergoes a preliminary screening by the Editor-in-Chief or a relevant Technical Editor to assess thematic alignment, experimental safety/ethical compliance, and structural integrity. Plagiarism screening via Turnitin/iThenticate is strictly executed at this stage, requiring a similarity index below the journal's maximum threshold.

  2. Expert Peer Review: Manuscripts passing the desk evaluation are anonymized and assigned to at least two independent international reviewers who are established experts in the specific domain of chemical science.

  3. Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editorial Board renders one of four decisions: Acceptance, Revisions Required (Minor/Major), Resubmit for Review, or Rejection. The final decision rests entirely on the empirical merit, reproducibility of findings, and innovative impact of the work.

Mission Statement: "The mission of ChemPedia is to deconstruct molecular complexities and catalyze safe, sustainable chemical innovations within a rapidly changing industrial landscape. Grounded in the philosophy that secure, green, and advanced chemical science is a vital anchor for global sustainable development, environmental resilience, and technological longevity, the journal aims to democratize chemical knowledge by providing an unrestricted, high-impact platform for global scholarly dialogue. Through the promotion of diverse and robust methodological approaches—ranging from experimental validation and spectroscopic tracing to quantitative molecular simulations—ChemPedia seeks to empower research scientists, inspire industrial developers, and shape evidence-based environmental and industrial policies worldwide."
